Frequently asked questions about our integrated online programs

How do I access the Cambridge HOTmaths with an integrated book course?

To access Cambridge HOTmaths-book integrated courses, a teacher or student account is required. These accounts give access to all of HOTmaths content, there are no restrictions. The Cambridge HOTmaths component of the integrated course is accessed via the regular menu and control centre, and from February 2011 will be directly accessible by choosing the book title, chapter and section in a new menu.
  • Teachers can be guided by the integrated teaching programs or HOTmaths content lists accessible on the download page for each book series.
  • Icons in the books indicate where the integrated program recommends using HOTmaths activities and resources.
If teachers or students want to browse at any time for additional or alternative content within the whole of HOTmaths, they are free to do so.

What is in the integrated program?

In the integrated program we have picked content which works well with the book concerned, to give the best of print-based and digital resources in a teaching program covering a specific syllabus. This saves time as teachers do not have to search and select the digital content to complement and support their print-based resource, we have done it for them.

What is the difference between a teacher and student account?

  • Teacher accounts can be used in class with a data projector or interactive whiteboard for teacher lead demonstrations or class discussions. The widgets (interactive simulations and maths programs) and walkthroughs (interactive examples) are particularly useful for this, and the HOTsheets (printable activity worksheets) can also be downloaded and printed with a teacher account.
  • Student accounts offer full use of all HOTmaths resources for the students to do homework, revision, questions, tests, and competitive drill and practice exercises, all linked to HOTmaths learning management system, the progress tracker.

Special prices apply when Cambridge HOTmaths is purchased in a bundle with a Cambridge book as part of an integrated program. See the individual integrated programs for more information.
